Walmart Partners with Outlier Ventures for eCommerce Base Camp Accelerator for Startups

Walmart's startup incubator, Store No.8, joins forces with Outlier Ventures to support and nurture startups building Web3 tools for retail and commerce enhancement

Walmart's startup incubator, Store No.8, has announced a collaboration with Outlier Ventures to launch the Store No.8 eCommerce Base Camp accelerator. This 12-week program aims to support startups focused on Web3 technologies that can revolutionize the retail and commerce experience. Selected founders will receive mentorship, education, and seed funding from Store No.8 and Outlier Ventures, with a focus on areas such as the metaverse, decentralized infrastructure, data and growth solutions, and the convergence of AI and blockchain. The partnership reflects Walmart's commitment to staying at the forefront of digital innovation and follows the company's recent updates to improve its own digital strategy, including personalized shopping experiences and the introduction of the Text to Shop feature. Other brands and retailers have also explored Web3 initiatives, such as Nike's .Swoosh platform and Lacoste's virtual store for Web3 community members.
