Walmart is preparing to rollout Better Care Services, a new one‑stop digital health platform that will allow customers to access a range of services from third‑party health care providers beginning January 15, 2026. The service aims to simplify access to urgent care, behavioral health, and other telehealth services, with Walmart offering a limited‑time $15 discount on select telehealth consultations to encourage early adoption.
Better Care Services creates a centralized digital destination where customers can compare and connect with a curated network of third‑party providers covering urgent care, mental health, chronic condition support, and other health‑related needs. These providers include a mix of telehealth specialists that patients can schedule with directly through the platform.
According to Kevin Host, Senior Vice President of Health & Wellness and Pharmacy at Walmart, the initiative is designed to break down barriers to affordable and convenient health care.
The launch builds on Walmart’s broader health strategy, which includes its extensive pharmacy network of more than 4,600 locations and prior expansions in virtual care. While Walmart closed its standalone Walmart Health centers in 2024 due to sustainability challenges, the company has continued investing in digital and pharmacy‑centric models that leverage both in‑store and online access points.
Better Care Services also complements in‑store offerings such as the Nutrition Hub, an AI‑driven tool that provides personalized food and recipe recommendations to support overall wellness, and the company’s broader efforts to reduce prices on health and wellness products.
By integrating digital care resources with Walmart’s physical reach and convenience services such as pickup and delivery, the retailer seeks to make basic health care more accessible to millions of customers nationwide — especially those in underserved or rural communities with limited traditional care options.
