Dairy Giant Boosts Production Capacity in Fort Worth
Global food manufacturer Danone North America is investing $4 million to expand its yogurt production facility in Fort Worth, Texas, as consumer demand for high‑protein and nutrient‑dense yogurt products continues to accelerate.
The expansion — expected to be completed by Sept. 1, 2026 — comes as Danone works to keep pace with rapid category growth that has strained existing manufacturing capacity.
Expansion to Support Popular Brands and Growth Trends
The Fort Worth plant, which employs about 210 workers, produces well‑known yogurt offerings including Danimals, Activia and YoCrunch. Danone plans to add 3,495 square feet and remodel another 1,843 square feet of the existing facility to accommodate new production equipment and increase output.
A company spokesperson said the expansion will help the business support “sustained growth and evolving consumer demand” for its portfolio of nutrient‑dense yogurt products. Industry analysts note that yogurt — especially protein‑rich varieties — has been a standout performer, driven in part by broader health and wellness trends.
Meeting Demand Amid Capacity Constraints
Danone has previously acknowledged capacity constraints in its North American yogurt supply chain, particularly as high‑protein options continue to “fly off the shelves.” Earlier efforts to expand and upgrade facilities, including in Ohio and Florida, reflect a broader push to bolster manufacturing capabilities to meet demand and support innovation.
The Fort Worth investment underscores how major consumer goods companies are balancing production capacity with shifting eating habits and preferences for high‑protein, convenient foods. As the supplement and wellness market evolves, Danone’s expanded manufacturing footprint positions the company to better serve both retail partners and consumers.
