Barnes & Noble College and GameSquare are launching a national esports initiative across 1,100 campus bookstores, engaging 6 million students with competitions and community-driven gaming experiences.

Barnes & Noble College, a prominent player in higher education retail, has announced a significant partnership with GameSquare, a global leader in esports and gaming. This collaboration aims to bring dynamic esports and gaming programming to students nationwide, leveraging the extensive network of over 1,100 campus bookstores.

The initiative is set to engage approximately 6 million students, integrating gaming culture more deeply into the college experience. This move acknowledges the growing importance of esports in student life and community building.

A National Esports Platform

The programming, spearheaded by GameSquare’s burgeoning experiences division, will roll out over the 2025-2026 academic year. It promises a series of engaging competitions, complete with online qualifiers and culminating in live finals held on a national platform. A detailed schedule of events is expected to be released later this year.

This collaboration is poised to create a significant impact on collegiate esports, offering students unprecedented opportunities to participate and excel in the rapidly growing world of competitive gaming.
